I have spoken in an earlier post about some great local resources for families facing bereavement. Today I’d like to highlight a relatively new organization in our area. Butterfly Kisses Alliance was formed by a group of nurses at a local hospital who want to improve the care that families receive when experiencing a pregnancy loss. They set their sights higher than just their own hospital, however, and created an organization set apart from their hospital.
Butterfly Kisses Alliance trains medical providers on how to better support patients facing a pregnancy or infant loss. They have created thoughtful written materials to assist providers.
Butterfly Kisses Alliance has a wealth of information on their website for families facing a loss or who have already experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth. The also aim to use their website and social media accounts to help provide a sense of community to those who are grieving. In addition, they have Comfort Kits available for bereaved families.
